 Pepper spray is very effective!
Pepper spray, also known as oleoresin capsicum (OC), is a naturally derived substance that comes from cayenne and other pepper varieties. OC causes an immediate and intense burning sensation which especially affects the eyes making them slam shut, burn, swell and produce tears. In addition, the mucous membranes of the nose, sinuses and throat will burn and swell, making breathing difficult. Pepper spray is non-lethal yet extremely effective for incapacitating an assailant. Even if the assailant is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, when sprayed in the eyes, pepper spray will cause them to INVOLUNTARILY SLAM SHUT! This temporary blindness and disorientation will allow you time to quickly escape! Pepper spray is also highly effective in deterring attacks from animals such as bears and dogs. Animal pepper sprays are much stronger than conventional pepper sprays. Still non-lethal, these sprays pack a serious punch since they are comprised of stronger blends and because of the fact that these animals have a far superior sense of smell than humans do.
Pepper spray is LEGAL in all 50 states. However, some states and cities have specific guidelines regarding the purchase, possession and use of defense sprays. You should check with your local law enforcement agency for specific guidelines. ANIMAL repellent sprays are also legal in, and can be shipped to all 48 contigous states!
